DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:ABSTRACT: This full-day tutorial is an upgraded version of the very popular XSEDE OpenACC workshop which has been successfully delivered to over 1200 students at 38 plus institutions.  It uses exercises to introduce the standard, directive based methods of programming accelerators: OpenACC and OpenMP 4.0.  The techniques learned will be applicable to both GPU and Intel Phi platforms.  The course will be intense, but will only assume a working knowledge of serial C or Fortran. Experienced CUDA programmers will also find the capabilities of this higher level approach worthwhile. The goal of this tutorial is to allow attendees to walk away with a working knowledge of accelerator programming.  Because it is hands-on and exercise driven, attendees will be able to immediately apply these techniques to their own codes.
