Send In Your Thoughts! SCinet is Soliciting Ideas for a "Network Research Environment"

For SC15, SCinet will provide a “Network Research Environment” for researchers who wish to demonstrate innovative tools and techniques for high-performing data transfers, security, network monitoring, and more. SCinet is looking for researchers interested in trying out new ideas in Software Defined Networking, or SDN. Some ideas being considered include:

  • Running a layer-3 Software-Defined Internet Exchange (SDX) in SCinet
  • Giving booths the ability to provision their own virtual networks to other booths, and possibly elsewhere via SDN
  • Integrating of one of the NSF GENI racks located in Texas into SCinet

What other SDN services should be provided?
Please email your suggestions to nre@scinet.supercomputing.org.

Applications now being accepted for the ACM-IEEE CS George Michael Memorial HPC Fellowships
