Dr. Ing. Bernd Mohr, SC17 General Chair, has been named one of the “People to Watch” in High Performance Computing (HPC) for 2015 by HPCwire, an online news portal that covers supercomputing. Each year, HPCwire recognizes a small group of individuals that are the best and brightest minds in HPC whose hard work, dedication, and contributions reach far beyond HPC and shape the direction that technology is taking us.

Nominations now being accepted for the Test of Time Award
The Test of Time Award (ToTA) recognizes an outstanding paper that has deeply influenced the HPC discipline. It is a mark of historical impact and recognition that the paper has changed HPC trends. The award is also an incentive for researchers and students to send their best work to the SC conference and a tool to understand why and how results last in the HPC discipline. This year, ToTA is accepting nominations from the community.

Applications now being accepted for the ACM Gordon Bell Prize
The Gordon Bell Prize is awarded each year to recognize outstanding achievement in high performance computing. The purpose of the award is to track the progress over time of parallel computing, with particular emphasis on rewarding innovation in applying high performance computing to applications in science, engineering, and large-scale data analytics. Prizes may be awarded for peak performance or special achievements in scalability and time-to-solution on important science and engineering problems.
